Union Pacific Railroad will continue improving the transportation infrastructure in Wyoming by investing nearly $31 million in the rail line that runs from Lusk to Shawnee. Various projects over almost 37-miles of the line include removing and installing more than 28 miles of rail and nearly 75,000 concrete ties, as well as renewing the surfaces at seven road crossings. Crews will also spread nearly 48,000 tons of rock ballast to help provide a more stable roadbed and replace three switches – the devices that move a train from one track to another.
