Well, Ken and Barb, you Milwaukee Road fans, here are a few from the trip to Minnesota and Wisconsin. It was a wonderful experience. All the guys and gals on the crews and the residents of the two states were just a pleasure to be around, very nice, very helpful. Heck, I didn't even notice how crummy the weather was at the end of the double header day. The photos sure show it, though. This one is the day before, at Red Wing, MN, the beautifully restored Canadian Pacific Hudson 2816. Next is the double header leaving Winona, MN after dropping many of us off to film the departure and arrival after turning at La Crescent. The Milwaukee 261 returning to her home after two weeks of fantastic trips, at Jackson Street, between SPUD and Minneapolis Junction. [ 08. July 2004, 02:18: Message edited by: fitz ]
I LOVE YOU, THIS IS WONDERFUL, WHAT BEAUTIES THEY ARE JIM, just wished I could have been there to see them with my own two eyes
Barb, I sure wish you could have been there, too. This is probably (oh, I'm gonna hear from the guys at the Brooklyn roundhouse) the best steam operation in the United States. Steve Sandberg is a genius at accomplishing impossible things, and he's just a young'un. I added a bunch on my website, just click on the link in my sig. The folks in your state are wonderful.
Beautiful!!!!!!! There is something about the animation of steam. It just brings a railroad to life. Boxcab E50
