I've posted some videos I shot with my new DV camera. Please take a look but remember these were shot during my learning process. http://hrccomputing.com/
Definitely not a bad learning process you used, Harold, they look great to me. If one had to pick a fault, there may be some small issues regarding handling (zooming, panning and composition - part of any learning curve) but the end result you have to be satisfied with. Which video camera are you using? The footage appeared very clear from the onsite playback. You have gotta love the 12-unit UP train with those trailing rent-a-wrecks! And of course the 'chugga-chugga-chugga' sound of a real locomotive!
Thanks Gary, On my first outting I forgot the fluid-head tripod, cause I was shooting stills also. Next trip I had both tripods. I'll be going out again in 5 days and should get a better feel for the camera and the zoom function. The camera is a Panasonic AG-DCX100. The quality is excellent, even in low light.
Harold, those are very good videos for your first shot out of the box....! I especially liked the doppler shift of the horn in the Cadiz video.
