You are right. He did not actually strip the shell. I missed the 'should' part. Here is the paragraph: 7. I should have done this next but I did not. Soak the two pieces in paint thinner to remove the existing paint. A half hour to an hour should do it, then scrub clean with a gentle tooth brush. Rob Kluz
That sheds some light now! I imagine if he did strip the paint on his C44 he'd have wrote the article in 2004 instead of 2003! Now, Harold Grady did strip one of his SD45's. He claims it took less than an hour. Stripped it clean. He sent it to me to make a mold of. He couldn't remember what he used to strip it. Lucky for me, eh! Bummer! It will be celebration day when it finally strips clean. Can't wait!!! Neither can John! Have a grand weekend! Tim
I'm going public with this now. I have ordered a custom turnout from Eric aka "Mythman" several months ago. I made a complete payment with Pay Pal but never got the turnout. I've contacted him, he was surprised and said he would send another turnout. I never got that one either. I just gave up. Something isn't right here. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt but apparently I'm not the only one who has lost money. [ December 09, 2005, 03:00 PM: Message edited by: Don Rickle ]

For what it's worth, I've seen some of his postings on the Atlas board after October 9, 2005. Stay cool and run steam.......
originally posted by Charlie: No Charlie I haven't. To be fair to Eric, I could have "followed up" with more E-mails. My order was just one turnout. I shrugged it off and decided I would not order again. I did not want to mention this in a public forum. After all, things do happen. However, after reading SmolderZ's situation I felt I should share my experience. He sure makes beautiful turnouts and if everything had gone smooth with my first order, I would have ordered several. I hope SmolderZ will keep us informed. I'm curious how this turns out. [ December 11, 2005, 07:35 PM: Message edited by: Don Rickle ]
