Does anyone know of a company that made TT scale back in the 30's or 40's that was in Indiana or Illinois? I have not seen this particular train set, but the person that owns it says it has a streamline diesel and "silver" passenger cars. The rail is in rolls and has to be inserted into the ties. Also, he thinks it's either metal or tin plate. Anyone have any ideas who made this train set and it's worth?

Welcome Conrailrad, I am not personally versed in TT equipment, but if you have Contacted the NMRA, then may I suggest you try: maurerail.com and ask them. This is an excellent train auction site, and has all the books on model trains, antique, classic and toy. They identified one for a guy last year, and even told him what extras were to have gone with it. Come back and let us know what you find out.

Thanks for the info. I'll let you know what I find out. I think the guy I'm researching this for might be pulling my chain. He said he has the set up in his attic and can't remember the brand name. I asked him to find it and give me the name and I can do a better job of researching the value. Haven't heard from him since then.

I have had some e-mail me direct asking for value of something obscure too. I suspect they found some plastic toy and think they have a fortune in an antique. HA! One said he had offered it for sale on some site, but people were rude to him. Poor baby got his feelings hurt.
