Once again, I have come up with a track plan again. N scale is the choice, the main line is about the only thing set in stone. Everything thing else can change. If any of you have 3rd planit, I can e mail in a 3pi file if you would like to fiddle with it, sorry bout the size, dont know how to adjust it quite yet.

I just can't get anything set in my head. I would like heavy industries, traffic between interchanges, traffic between industries, such as gravel pit to concrete company, etc. Run Through trains. Basically the whole gamut. Mid 70's to present day, as if the soo line was never bought out!!! sd 70mac in soo red and white!!!!!

Any ideas will be written down and messed with. I would like the yard to stay about long as it is, as I plan on running bout 5-8 foot long trains, maybe longer for run throughs, like unit trains and the like. So many ideas...... soooo little space in my head!!!!!!LMAO!!!http://www.railimages.com/album/Greg Burzynski/trying_again.jpg,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, adios from texas

Are you planning on staging all your trains from the main yard? If so, it looks like you've got a good start on your track plan.

If you want additional staging, you might want to make room for it. Maybe drop down to staging via a helix, since you can hide one under your railroad and it's not necessary to see it. Then you can place your staging yard under the main line, say 10-12" lower, and still reach the back tracks without too much trouble.

Thanks pat! The layout is going to be between 4' 6" or 4' 10" off the floor, which will give me plenty even if I wanted to double deck it. The hidden staging is a great idea, I just need to find a place to hide that space eating monster we all know and love called a helix.

Once again pat thanx fer the input. Adios from texas

Well frisco, or is it brisco county jr??, lol, I slay my self!!, Bob the doors are on the longest wall, two of them, both swing out, one into kitchen , and the other into my bedroom, ( aka future exspansion, orrrrrr mega staging!) the windows are on the 11' and the 14' long walls, they are painted shut, so no need in being able to get to them.

Well this time I went to discount trains, came out 200 lighter. but got some kewl stuff! Adios from texas

The plan looks good to me! nice yards, plenty of spurs and room for more if needed. Looks like you got a winner there, all you need to do now is figure out what kind of industries you are going to use and maybe a town or two!! :D

Pat's idea sounds like something worth thinking about. Otherwise, it looks like you'll have something that will keep you quite busy!

Andy. long time no see. The town idea is in the works, but I am making it a standard to at least have 1-2 industries per town to service. Industries consist of, lumber, paper ( i.e. like all wisconsin), grain, warehouses, concrete, gravel, you guessed it , any kit that is a conerstone. I just picked up superior paper, but I am changing the kraft mill from that tan to a blue,.97 cent wal mart spray paint :D , or maybe a green color. I plan on having industires serve each other, like gravel to concrete , and the like.

Boxcab, I agree, Pat's Ideas are good, I planed on having staging, and alot of it, or I might just even double deck it, and still have staging. There is a door that goes to my bedroom from that room, so I could disappear behind a hill or a clump of trees on the way to the staging facility. Thanx fer the input guys. Once I get the FOX RIVER SUB of the Soo Line going, I will extend to all who are near to come take a look see.

Adios from texas. I can not belive it , it has not rained fer a week straight. something must be wrong.
