I decided to put the Steam locomotive type 4-10-2 that I am working on. Made from some parts IHC 4-8-2s That I have collected . Got it to run , but did have to clearance the holes in the last side rods to help smooth the mechanism out. I am using IHC locos because I got them cheap. I could not bear to cut up some more expensive locomotives plus the plastic frame is easier to modify.
The 1st photo shows the boiler shell and how the motor is back of the firebox also the modified dog bone and the 2nd photo is the 4-8-2 compared to the 4-10-2. Some boiler lengthening will need to be done.

Boiler has been lengthened from a section of a second boiler and center cylinder detail added to steam chest. The reason for the 4 wheel lead truck on 4-10-2 s was to support the weight of 3 cylinders.

I was having some problems with lack of power with this locomotive , the motor seemed weak so I modified it to accept a used Cannon motor that I had. Seems better. The cannon motor is a slower speed motor . Had to sacrifice the fly wheel.
