Hi Folks: This year's National N Scale Convention in Pittsburgh, PA was well worth the 12+ hour road trip and many bathroom pit stops along the way (due to the need for large amounts of caffeine). George, founder of the TroveStar N Scale Model Train DB, is taking it all in and reporting back (big ScaleTrains.com announcement, new Fox Valley Models releases....and more) all the latest and greatest happenings at the Convention. To see pix from the Convention, learn about new product announcements, other highlights and see layouts (including T-trak), please visit our TroveStarTrains facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/TroveStarTrains/ Here is the link to our album: 25th Annual National N Scale Convention, June 2017. https://www.facebook.com/pg/TroveStarTrains/photos/?tab=album&album_id=472448139762677 We will update our FB page often. So... other than the pictures you have taken... are there any new products being announced that you can discuss without having to go on Farcebook.
Only the GEVO and the caboose were really 'new' NEWS. The two pick-ups were discussed at sometime before the convention. Sometimes we also see previews of new stuff already announced which are coming out soon. Has anything been said about the new Olympian Hiawatha at the convention? How about the Athearn Big Boys and Challengers? Sometimes the pictures posted directly to Trainboard gives us the feeling we are at the convention... I don't use Farcebook... so I don't really look for anything there.
Photos of the vehicle models can be seen on the NSVA's Industry News page. http://nscalevehicles.org/news.php Carter
I'm not sure if it's been discussed before, but I was pleasantly surprised to learn Micro-Trains will be selling trucks with metal wheels. Also learned Kato is taking pre-orders on a Kobo SD40-2 in the BN Spirit of 76 paint scheme, unit number 1876. Plus Kato had their Hiawatha train set on display, pretty sweet looking if you're a Milwaukee Road modeler. On a side note, Carter were you at the convention? Where you the one I was talking to about the White Road Commander?
Rich, I was at the convention, but only got a chance to see or do much on Wednesday during registration for the voting on the N Scale Vehicle of the Year Awards. I was getting ready for the Thursday activities, and started feeling ill. I was not able to set up the vehicle display for the show, and I only managed to get the photos of the Showcase Chevy, the Atlas Fords and the Trainworx trailers for the NSVA web site. That was a real bummer! I am sorry, but I cannot remember whether or not we talked about the White Road Commander. If we did, it would have been during registration. Carter
