Going to Albuquerque/Santa Fe next week, and I'd like to visit any hobby shops in the area. Any recommendations? Also, I think there's a restored ATSF steam engine in the area. Is that something that's open to the public, or viewable without trespassing? Thanks!

It was open last time I went that way. It was in a public park, there is a waist high fence around it. I can’t remember the engine type, I have never had an available camera when driving through. There was also a caboose nearby too. Hopefully the crud that is our life today hasn’t shut down the park. Good news there is a gas station nearby that provides viewing from a slight distance. The caboose was closer to the gas station.

Northern type 2926 is not receiving visitors during her restoration. Someone's afraid she'll get COVID.

Texas type 5030 can be seen at Salvador Perez Park in Santa Fe.

Unfortunately, the picturesque Santa Fe station in Albuquerque burned down several years ago.

Thanks! I'll have to find the 5030. And definitely go to Wig Wag. I have a habit of buying my souvenirs at hobby shops when I travel.
