The topic of TrainStore came up on the N scale forum. Until my post, the comments were all very favorable. Then I posted mine and Mark Watson thought it would be worth bringing up here, too. This is my verbatim post from the other thread: The TrainStore can be made to be a great asset to TrainBoard. I just think it needs some tweaking. P.S. I have enough faith in the TrainStore that I'm going to put some code 83 sectional track up there!
On another site I visit, threads in the for sale forum are automatically culled after 30 days. This forces them to stay current... It seems to work pretty well...
Up until a couple of months ago, I was an admin for an RV forum, and one of my duties was keeping the classifieds organized and current. That forum decided they could do without me performing this task, and after a couple of months the classifieds now are even more confusing than the ones here. I know how much time I spent on it, and how quickly it went to hell in a handbasket when I stopped. A for sale section is a great asset, but it requires much more work to keep clean than you would think.
I use Googlemail for my e-mails. Anything classed as Spam, or in the Bin for over 30 days is removed automatically. Is there some good technical reason why the "for sale" items here cannot have the same filter? Regards, Pete
I wouldn't think so. It's a pretty basic filter, and the other forum I mentioned uses the same software as this one. Of course it's possible the moderators are cleaning house manually over there.
Yes we have been a little lapse in this area. The Admin of Trainstore will be dealing with this shortly I am sure of that. As always thank You for bringing this to our attention.
