I haven't read through all the posts here. Taking off from this....have we decided what it is we are making and have we announced it yet? Do we have a prototype with posted pictures.

    Ahhmmm, I don't buy what I can't see. I don't do anything on faith. I don't pre-order something that is a...well... unknown. So, what's up?

I will have to tell you a story about a Christmas gift I got. It will put a new perspective on getting a stocking filled with coal and a stick. Not one of those dad-com-d lemon to lemonade stories either. I usually get yellow...expensive...urine. Heeheeheehee!

    And.....

I have attempted to order, and after I enter credit card, it just keeps going in a loop. Do I have one ordered or not?

    Larry,

Looks like not. You would receive an e-mail if it went through. If it seems to be in a loop, it is robably telling you that something is missing.

Wow, we made it to the halfway point! Can you believe that we did it without even being able to display artwork (which we believe to be coming from MT any day)?

Thanks folks! When we hit 200 orders we will be near the break even point financially on this project.

By the way, if you are looking for a little more Missouri-Illinois action for your layout, this eBay auction is very reasonable for three Bluford Shops hoppers. Here's a two pack and here's another three pack, although the latter are not as good pricewise. I already have all of these or I would buy that three-pack.

Looks like no one here hit the Powerball Jackpot or I am sure the first thing they would have would have done is order another 150. :)

Well, George, we know that if you had won, right now you'd not be wasting time here. But instead be out buying a bigger RV for T.H.E. empire!

Hi there, kind of new here, joined this site because of a really nice topic you have about upgrading a Minitrix U30CG with a Kato U30/C30-7 Drive and I wanted to say thanks to the contributors of that topic for their inspiration. So in short that has been my limited exposure to your site and my one and only post until this one.

I was reading the first page of this topic and got the part about shipping costs and wanted to say... there are better ways to ship things that would allow you to keep more money for this site rather than giving it to the post office. For example, a Small Flat Rate Box fits nicely into a FLAT RATE ENVELOPE and costs less to ship. Delivery Confirmation is FREE if you print your shipping labels directly from your PayPal account saving you even more money. If you have a trusted associate here at the site that has access to USPS Commercial Shipping Rates, you can save even more off Priority Mail prices by using his/her account to ship these items. For example I can ship USPS Small Flat Rate boxes for 5.10 (including Delivery Confirmation) or better yet put that Flat Rate Box into a Flat Rate Envelope and send it for only 4.80 (including Delivery Confirmation). The reason I get these discounts is because I get Commercial Rate Pricing due to my eBay sales.

Want to ship this tiny item for even less? This little train car packaged very well with bubble wrap and packing nuts is only going to weigh about 5 ounces. Send them out First Class and do it through PayPal's shipping with FREE Delivery Confirmation for only 1.98. Now look at how much money you get to keep and help support this site instead of giving it to the post office. Of course going First Class will require you to supply your own shipping container. But I can help you out there also. Being a seller on eBay who always offers FREE shipping to my buyers I have found very inexpensive shipping boxes that work great for N Scale items and I will gladly pass that information on to you if you wish to have it.

What this all comes down to is keeping more money for this site, every single penny that is not given away to the Post Office is money invested back into TrainBoard.

300 SMALL FLAT RATE BOXES + Delivery Confirmation.
    Post Office... $5.35 + $0.75 = $6.10 x 300 = $1830.00
    Printed On-Line... $5.35 + $0.00 = $5.35 x 300 = $1605.00
    Commercial... $5.10 + $0.00 = $5.10 x 300 = $1530.00

300 SMALL FLAT RATE ENVELOPES WITH SMALL FLAT RATE BOXES STUFFED INSIDE + Delivery Confirmation.
    Post Office... $5.15 + $0.75 = $5.90 x 300 = $1770.00
    Printed On-Line... $4.90 + $0.00 = $4.90 x 300 = $1470.00
    Commercial... $4.80 + $0.00 = $4.80 x 300 = $1440.00

FIRST CLASS (all 50 states and U.S. territories) + Delivery Confirmation
You will need to buy the shipping container, I can show you where to get them for under 10 cents each!
    $0.10 per box x 300 = $30.00
    Post Office... $2.29 + $0.75 = $3.04 x 300 = $912.00
    Printed On-Line... $1.98 + $0.00 = $1.98 x 300 =
    $594.00

That is almost $1000.00 in saved postage costs, money you can put back into TrainBoard! Priority Mail is the biggest money making scam the Post Office has ever tossed at the public and it is making them billions in over charged postage. "If it fits it ships"... for an outrageous rate is what the commercials should say. Sure it is simple to use but is the tiny bit of time saved really worth the 1000.00 in extra cost.

Please contact me if you need more information or have a chat with a friend or more familiar member around here that has a good shipping background. I would stay way from those who "ONLY" ship Priority Mail, they are obviously too lazy to do anything else or too stupid to figure out ways around it.

I appreciate the advice, but I am not lazy or stupid. These cars will ship from Maine. Post offices in Maine will not accept flat rate envelopes that bulge in any way. My wife owns a business that ships hundreds of boxes and the postmasters of the two local post offices are personal friends. Again, post offices in Maine will not accept any envelope or box that bulges and that is their policy. I have returned home with boxes before because they were rejected. These cars will ship in small flat-rate boxes to U.S. addresses. If that is the make or break point for people and whether or not they will order, then don't order.

    Charlie
