Let me say first the concept seems like a good idea; but, when someone is in 4+ groups it's a bit much and those in 7+ get to be huge headers. We once ask folks to keep their Signatures small but now we have over-sized headers for those heavily participating in TrainBoard Groups. Can this be reduced as to the number of groups shown; say either 1 row of 3 or 2 rows of 3 each??? hboy:
While I can certainly see the utility of exposing TB groups to the masses that might not be in the know, folks like me that have multiple group memberships (as Darren suggested earlier) creates a large header. Can it be trimmed down? Perhaps without the icons?
Hey, I look like one of those cold war era generals from some 2-bit power on parade here with all these badges emblazoned on my posts. I had considered ditching my memberships to some of these but I actually go and participate in these groups so I don't see that as being terribly likely. I'd be happy to select my top three to keep it compact. With the smilies here I can really make my posts long... Wheeee! :teeth: :angry: :blush: :closedmouth:
Darren, You were jumping the gun in lambasting me on this. Sometimes I am working on something, and users over-react in voicing their displeasure while I am working on something. In any event, I was unable to get this to behave in the way I wanted, so I have disabled it for now. Sometimes, I wish people would give me a chance when I am working on something though. Charlie
I don't think Darren was trying to attack anyone, but just point out an issue. My post was meant in jest, not as some rabid attack. I can speak for that one at least. Did not mean to offend if I did.
What "lambasting", I said I like the concept and ask only if this was configurable or not. Maybe if we saw a post saying you were trying something we might react differently to all these changes... :droll:
