    Two thumbs up

:thumbs_up: It was a really great show. Anytime I can feel like I've learned something after an hour of TV it's a good thing. There is a certain sadness to seeing a locomotive being cut to shreds. I was glad to see the show didn't focus on the destruction but also featured a lot of information about rebuilding old locos. The information about safety training and testing was very enlightening. More than once in the hour a caught my self saying I did not know that. I'm very glad I was able to watch this one.

Thanks for the heads up on the program. I enjoyed it a lot and now know where fence posts come from. I agree that it was hard to see the scrapping of old equipment but it was neat to see them show how some equipment is saved and restored.

Missed the original airing, but saw the rerun last night. Pretty informative. I figured the engine blockg for a 20-645 prime mover would be heavy, but geez o Pete, to take 2 front-end loaders to lift it?????

The scrapping of that SD45 reminded me of when the scrappers came to town and dismantled two ex-Santa Fe GP7Rs sitting at the DGNO facility here in town. In the space of two days, what were two locomotives were GONE. with only the 16-567 blocks left to be lifted, placed on trucks, and hauled off. The scrappers were all over those old Geeps like ants- well, ants with blowtorches.

Yeah I keep checking the schedule and nothing is showing up for that show so we probably won't see it for 7-8 months.
