I'm going to lay the track for my 3 track diesel service facility today, and I just decided that I want the double track sanding tower from Stewart Products double track sanding tower I have been searching the web for info on the track spacing, but can't find it, so now I hope for your help. Does anyone know what the track spacing is for this sanding tower ?, its N scale. Or should I order it and wait until I have it to lay the track ? Thanks Jesper
Well, if you want to be safe, you'll wait until you have it before you lay your track. The NMRA has recommendations on track spacing, but they don't mean much if the facility doesn't fit the standards.
If you use that picture as a template, you might be able to scratchbuilt it...a little styrene or other dowels, and som ethin styrene strip, should do it...and then some detailing...of course, you could just pick the kit up too.
