Does anyone use surface mounted resistors between their metal wheelsets to trip their track signals. If so, what do you use?? This new company that supplies electronics for model railroads called RR-CIRKITS is got some great stuff for detection devices for signals. Cheap prices to. www.rr-cirkits.com
You can try 10K ohms and 1/8 watt. We had this discussion about 10 days ago on TB. RS has these resistors. I'm using it for block occupancy detection. You need a resistance paint to complete the circuit to the metal wheelsets after you CA the resistor to the axle. RS also has the resistance paint. Stay cool and run steam.... Bob, That should be 10K ohms (10,000) ohms. Scott, here is the thread: http://www.trainboard.com/ultimatebb.php/ubb/get_topic/f/9/t/007544.html#000003
