October 2009 in Kansas City. The Southwest Chief and Missouri River Runner set for morning departure to points east.
Southwest Chief west of Gallup at Manuelito, NM, 10/22/1996. P40DC 843 leads with plenty of head end cars.
Wow. I looked up that dome car and it's former B&O and once named "Sky Dome". Given its appearance, I thought it might be home built, but it was a Pullman-Standard product. Lives today at the Museum of Transport in St Louis.

Expected to depart more than 4 hours late, A7 rests in Minot this morning. Sorry for all the poles and wires...
NB Amtrak-not sure which one. Shot today from a Metro yellow line train as we headed south over the Potomac. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Amtrak crossing Sheep Creek trestle at Goat Lick east of Essex. Zoom in on the bridge to see the locomotives
Not Amtrak but I am reminded of riding the Empire Builder through Glacier Park back in June of 1961. I can only do so much in Photo Shop to fix this old photo that my brother took from the train of one of the lodges.
