The Mears system of toll roads was a number of individual toll roads constructed by Mears from 1867-1883. According to the map: 1867: Nathrop, Mears Junction, Villa Grove, Saguache 1871: Saguache, Cochetopa, Old Los Pinos Agency, Gate View, Lake City 1872: Gate View, Sapinero, Montrose, Uncompahgre, Los Pinos Agency. GateView, Los Pinos Agency rebuilt 1877 1875: Silverton, Mineral Point 1878/9: Mears Junction, Gunnison 1879: Gunnison, Sapinero 1880: Los Pinos Agency, Placerville 1881: Placerville, Ophir, Telluride Ouray, Sneffles 1882/3: Ouray, Poughkeepsie, Silverton 1887: Lake City, Mineral Point Los Pinos Agency, Ouray Many of which were either sold, or converted to the ROW for the eventual laying of RGS tracks.
