Can't figure out why, but I keep flashing to an old Tom and Jerry cartoon! Seriously, congrats on the progress... The unofficial Tom and Jerry web page. [ 09 October 2001: Message edited by: ten87 ]</p>
Bwahhhhahaahahaha! I remember that one. Your right. I thought something looked familiar about that. On the straight side: Looks like a great start. I'm sure that hole will end up being a spectacular tunnel to the 'rest' of the world. Best in all.
Well the secret must come out. The track leading to the HOLE is the tunnel from Port Huron to Sarnia where the GVR meets the MAT. That's NARA at its finest.
Actually Robin you are 100% correct. This leads to the MAT connection. There will be one at the other end that connects to Larry Gilbert's CEE.
Great to see some progress being made (Finally) lol. Now I expect track to be layed this month and dont give me any excuses about availability of code 55 track
Paul,Do me a favor will you? E-mail Paul Graf at ATLAS and insist he get the code 55 track on the market so I can build my layout. Thanks buddy I knew I could count on you.
Ok guys ,here's part of the plan in living black and white(and barely visiable green) I need some input as to the yard.I have about 6' of length and 16" to 19" of width. Anybody want to redraw this on your puter? Oh by the way this is less than half of the layout. [ 12 October 2001: Message edited by: Catt ]</p>
Hey, Catt where is the connection to the NBRR??? No really, because I have a connection to the GVRR, so why don't you give me a connection on your layout?!?!
Well guys I'm not waiting any longer for the ATLAS code 55 track to show up.According to Paul Graf at ATLAS it may not be here till Christmas or later. The Peco code 55 that I ordered yesterday on ther otherhand may be here as soon as this coming saturday. As far as it not looking like American prototype track I could care less.
Catt, You could still have a link up with a prototypical railroad as interchange, or whatever, and still be true to freelancing. Dane and I are building a layout - a double decker. He gets the upper level and I get the lower level. I am modeling an area in the port of Vancouver, with both CN and CP. He is modeling "Eastern British Columbia Raillink (EBC RL)" a free lance subsidiary of MRL. I figure doing both gets the best of both worlds. You get to run your favourite prototype and play with your imagination. We have already begun painting ex CP passenger budd cars into the EBC RL paint scheme we have adopted, but I am also able to acquire the SD90's for CP that look so great with the "golden rodent" on it....lol.
Rick, still to come on the GVR are interchanges and run throughs with CPR (love them red SD90s),CSX,NS,and BNSF. My little shortline kinda GROWED
I just completed the hardest part of the HO layout destruction. I just spent 2 hours tearing out 8 1/2' of street trackage that took me 2 weeks to purrfect 3 years ago
Picked up 15 pieces of Peco code 55 flex track last night.Hopefully by this coming Sunday I'll have track down.Incase you are wondering thats about 45' of track. I have 15 more pieces waiting for me at the hobbyshop .But first things first I have 10' of backdrop and 8' of blueboard to install first. By the way I've changed my mind about putting the yard where it shows on the drawing. I;m going to use the old switching layout to make the yard(through the mouse hole). The yard will be almost 19' long. Rick I am also planning connections with as many NARA roads as I can justify. I think this should keep me out of mischief for a couple weeks [ 07 November 2001: Message edited by: Catt ]</p>
