My model railroad is based on BNSF's fictional McLean Subdivision. I'll tell everybody a little about my railroad soon. I should even have some pictures of the layout in a week or so.
    talk soon..

    Matthew,
I just took some photos on Sunday, and hopefully I'll find a way to scan them, and put em' on trainboard. Look for em' in a couple of weeks at the most. Until then, I'll have to tell everybody about my railroad.
    Here's a cool description.
McLean is a small Colorado town, but home to one of the nations largest railroads, The Burlington Northern Santa Fe. Ever since BNSF revamped the entire McLean Subdivision, McLean has become one of the area’s most popular hotspots for catching line side action. BNSF runs 40 trains a day through town, mostly manifest freights, but if one’s lucky, you can catch mile-long Wyoming coal trains wind their way through town with helpers in the middle and on the rear. The Denver & Western shortline also has tracks in town, and is planning to build a connection track with BNSF in the near future. The D&W runs short grain trains through town, and has three GP9 locomotives, all old power from the ADN, WS, and Mil.Road. Just a year ago, BNSF had only a single track main, with a switch to the gravel plant, and engine facility. Now, BNSF has repaired two large tunnels (one entering and one exiting town), expanded to double track main, and built the brand new Canyon Yard. The yard serves dozens of trains each day, and classifies westbound freights. The BNSF locomotive shops still exist, and serve as the repair center for any BNSF locomotives that need fixin’. During the night, you can stop by Drew’s Trackside , and have a BBQ on the deck. As you sit in your rocking chair, you hear nothing but frogs, crickets, and maybe a far away coyote. But then, as you’re sipping your favorite beverage, you see three bright headlights out of the corner of your eye. A loud horn blasts through the nighttime silence, the rails began to hiss, and then you see three pumpkins bearing down on you. You can’t do anything but drool, as the train speeds by at 60 mph, just 50 feet away. Then it’s all over, nithing but a blinking red light moving farther, and farther away. Don’t fret, just sit back and relax. Don’t worry about falling asleep, because thirty of those forty trains coem through town after 8 PM. [IMG]

I'm always interested in layouts built to depict or portray my stomping grounds...

I've got to ask though, how did you come to choose BNSF in Colorado mountain country?

This sounds like the UP west to Denver!

Well, over the past three years I've been building it, I seem to have acquired more BN, SF, and BNSF locomotives than any other kind. So I decided, Hey why not run BNSF? [IMG]

One thing I do plan to do in the future is paint the city of Denver on one of my backdrops, and have the Broncos new stadium in the backround [IMG]

Hey Watash, how's the roundhouse goin'?

Drew, The roundhouse is on hold while the pit and table are being fitted up. The dollies are mounted to the table, and now the mechanism for turning is being fitted and tuned. This Diamond Scale is a dream to work with. Lots of detail. There are two 40 horse motors, one on each dolly, that drive a large jack shaft that has a roller chain drive to the dolly truck wheels. Its detailed like a swiss watch with all the hex nuts and bolts showing; even rivits or the dolly frames! Beautiful kit! Cost less than the others too.

The new stadium is gonna be nice~ When you are driving Southbound on I-25 it looks like you are going to drive straight into it, and then at the last second you curve around it...

    Watash,
Sounds like it's working out great, keep up the good work. It probably will take a while since it's almost the size of a real roundhouse [IMG]

    tunnel88,
I've seen a model of the stadium, and it does look pretty cool. Is it gonna still be called Mile High?
