THE LEGEND OF HOLTON VALLEY The story is told about Sam Handly, a shoe salesman from Kokomo, Indiana. He was in the sleeping car on the Flamingo one night, and awoke with a start. Thinking he had missed his station he jumped from the train and was killed. Some people say his ghost, still wearing the red flannel pajamas from that night long ago, still rides the trains. Love it. When I saw the title, I assumed it referred to Holton, Maine. But that didn't detract from the tale.....:thumbs_up:
Holton Valley Road is the second paved crossing after the Museum trains leave New Haven. I just picked it because local people would know where it was.
