I agree, I nearly finished everything this morning and worked with the arrangement more.

    Love it question though Patrick
How are the trucks to load at the shed if the scale/unload ramp is in the way

That is a good question. I thought about making it one side only, so trucks would have to turn and back onto the scale / load-unload shed. That would allow the shed doors to be accessible.

Stick a fork in it… I’m going to call this one done.

Aside from the ramp arrangement, this kit is done.[IMG]

On just the one door then I have an idea I've seen and delivered picked up from

Because of the size of the facility would impede grain deliveries or picks as it sits

Sorry the truck driver in me

Never mind u see what you're dealing with hmmmmmmm

Just an idea pm me so I can run it by you

Awesome! Just so happens, the CEO is a big stock car and dirt track racing fan!

“If you don’t know where you are going, you’ll end up someplace else.” – Yogi Berra

I spent far less time planning the upper level than the lower level and yet, it seems I will end up with a better result. Now that the end of both the benchwork and track work is within sight, more changes are being considered.

I intended for staging to be on the other side of this wall (through the hole) over the helix and spilling over into another room. This morning, I realized that I could fit the north end staging (Wheeling) over top of the Aarons Fork branch and the workbench.

The Aarons Fork branch is 24 inches wide and I think I can have about 12-14 inches of clearance below the upper staging, which would work if I keep the track generally closer to the front of the benchwork.

Likewise, the uppermost tunnel could still be a branch line with narrow benchwork over the helix in the other room to an “island” over the future dispatchers desk. This eliminates building large benchwork over the helix, speeds up the arrival to Wheeling staging and contains the layout in a slightly smaller footprint without sacrificing operations.

Thank you! Believe me, there have been times where I did regret how I twisted myself to get the benchwork up with one hand and a cordless drill and screw in the other!
