This is a scan of the front of my new 0n30 engine house.

It is being built using the Bachmann HO scale "Car Repair Shop"

What I've done so far is raise the fondation 18" and the tops of the doorways another 12".(all measurements are 0 scale) I had concidered shortening the building but would have to give up the skylites and don't want to do that.

By the way this will be fronted by a Helgan HO turntable modified for 0n30. :D

Beginning to feel like I'm the only active "Narrow minded person" on TB. :(

Keep us posted on your progress. I'm glad you are posting here. I have been busy on other projects and my narrow gauge has sat on the siding for a while. I saw a neat narrow gauge caboose kit the other day, "Chivers" I believe. I may pick it up and see how it mixes with my Bachmann frieght cars. I have really grown to dislike the Bachmann caboose. Thank heaven for mixed trains. :D I have a small switching layout in HO that my boys are bugging me to get down. Maybe I'll get it tuned up and run my On30 on it.

Biggest problem I have with my 0n30 is I have a large N scale layout setting here being ignored [IMG] .I need to get back to working on that ,buit I can sit down to putz with the 0n30 plus its a nice change working (playing) with the larger stuff.

Raising the door openings meant new roof trusses needed to be made. This pic shows the stock Bachmann unit and one of my my new scratchbuilt units.

The Bachmann piece is taller than the new part.Since I am detailing the interior of the building I will be needing 5 of these (Bachmann provides 3).

3M makes a removable poster tape that is one of the best scratchbuilding aids I have ever come across. The tape is sticky on both sides and transparent. You simply secure your pattern to a flat surface apply the tape where you need to put the pieces/parts and start gluing. When the glue sets up slide something flat between part and pattern and start the next piece. :D

Catt, to echo Jim's comment, "Look'n good." Does your steam engine have much room coming out the door? Looks like a perfect match from your pictures.

With the stock stacks they have about 6 scale inches of clearance.

Right now I'm debateing on useing a turntable or a scratchbuilt 3 way switch to get them in and out.Any thoughts on that from you guys?

A turntable would be easier than a 3-way switch, I would think. I guess it depends how much room you have to work with. Instead of a 3-way switch you might consider a more traditional ladder track arrangement. If your into scratch building switches, a stub 3-way would really be neat. Just some thoughts off the top my head. [IMG]

My vote is for a three-way stub.
