Ever have a car that gets made, but it's limited run and you missed it. Then they re-run it and you think "I'll have time to get that later" Later comes around and DOH!!! You miss it again!!! The IM ICG grain hopper is like that for me. They are out of them in N scale so I am just going to have to lurk on ebay till one shows up. The other day I was in the train store and they had a ICG orange coil car with hoods by IM. I feel very happy I bought one. Six would have been the correct quantity but atleast I have one.
Hey, wasn't that grain car the same you you were drooling over at that show we went to? If you wait long enough, it'll be re-run. But it may be a long wait. Eric
I've been E-baying for a Bachman shay for a few months now, and somehow end up bailing out just short of where it ends up. Can be frustrating, but I keep after it. Lots of years ago I had a contact with a person who had a brass import Feather River Railway shay he was going to sell. I really should have bought it, I think of that opportunity often.
Eric, So what exactly did i say at that show? Geek "I'll just wait till the price comes down on that one, noone models ICG anyway." Did it go something like that? I did get the Ill.Terminal hopper that day.
Heli the bachmann shay is an amazing piece of work. My LHS had one with a sound decoder in it. It was what got me to go DCC. Are they out of production now? I thought they were still making them.
Geeky, my latest visits to the Walthers web site didn't result in any "warm fuzzies", plus a bargain is a good thing. I'm limiting my options 'cause I want an undecorated oil burning version. DCC is aways into the future.
