Some photographs sent to me by a customer, to show my spine cars running on the layout.

I will let Dallas tell you about the layout.

    "Alan,
You have my permission to use any and all the pictures to post on your forum (in fact,
I would feel honored if you did) thank you. Our club, The Columbia River "N" Scale Club, has been together for approximately 15 years. Our club layout depicts the routes of both the B.N. and U.P. railroads, having modeled both the Washington State side and the Oregon State side, (State route 14 on the Washington side and State route 84 on the Oregon side). The layout, with few exceptions, is true to the prototype areas modeled. Many a time show goers have
stopped and said, I know that place or "Hey! I grew up around there" .. (makes us feel
good to know we have done a good job). If you look back at the Premier issue of N Scale Railroading, the cover article about Big Power On The Blue Mountains, our modules are hooked up to that layout (under construction) which makes the layout cover the route now mainly U.P. (because of the
Blues) from basically the Columbia River from Portland to Pendelton Oregon, all very true to the prototype areas modeled. With our modules (not all of them) we have approximately 9 scale miles or so of running track..takes about 30-45 minutes at scale
speeds to go from one point one one level to finish point other level including helix.

I believe the U.P. Historical Society is having it's annual convention
here in July/August (can't remember..old age) and our layout of "THE BLUES" is on their tour of layouts..so are we scrambling or what!!! (only 10 members in club).

Should you want any more pictures or more infomation in future, please let me know!
    Cheers, Dallas"

I espacilly like the 28' Viking trailers. I have resorted to scratchbuilding several 28' trailers such as those ones. I wish Microscale would come out with Roadway, "New" Yellow Freight, and UPS decals. Of course I will have to get some of Alan's new 28' trailers when they come out. His 28' chassies look great under my cast resin 28' containers. I just need scale UPS decals as I am forced to use the ones from A Line for their HO Scale trailers and container chassies. The ones for the UPS chassies are almost N Scale sized for the trailer or container body.

Hello Brian [IMG] Welcome aboard Trainboard!

I particularly like the highway alongside the railroad. Wish I had the space to do likewise. Funny how when a real location is modelled, it looks like a real place, instead of an imagined one (if you see what I mean) :D Has the air of authenticity.

Looks like a great layout for a ten member club [IMG]

Sweet pics! I can't wait to start my layout! Man, I hate living in this apt, as I can't get started even building a structure kit, or whatnot, no space to allow to get dirty.... I like the spine cars, Alan! They look real good! I haven't seen that many dash 9's in a while, either. UNLESS you are talking about the real-life-sized ones! :D

Thanks for welcoming me aboard. Wish I would have discovered this site sooner. Yes I model in N scale. I also operate 12" to the foot for BNSF as a Conductor. About modeling and living in an apartment. I moved recently to a smaller apartment causing me to put my large N scale layout in storage. I have since built a dining room table with an N scale layout inside. I hope to share some pictures soon. Right now it is about half complete right down to the scenery. The table solves two problems at once and is great if you don't have that much space.
