I believe a couple of those names are transposed. Should be the Cincinnati, Bluffton & Chicago RR. I see a reference in my 1916 Official Guide. Appears to be in financial trouble, as a Receiver is noted. Boxcab E50
You are4 absolutely correct! I have newspaper clippings both ways but I also have a photocopy of an old train order with it Cinicinnati, Bluffton and Chicago.
Interesting paper! Note that although it's on a train order form, it's not actually a train order. I have a few examples from various other railroads, where they've done the same. As seen where it designates as "Special", instead of having a number. This is one method train dispatchers used long ago, for delivering messages notifying conductors and engineers of work to do, and other things that could come up. It's sort of a combination of telegraphed message and lineup, with a hint of train order for flavoring. Boxcab E50
