De Queen & Eastern caboose 81 (an ex-KCS crummy) and the D&E depot, DeQueen, AR 4-90

D&E crane 22 (poor-job of covering up the KCS logo!), also at DeQueen, AR

The boom car, also ex-KCS (notice the faint markings- no D&E reporting marks or number at all here)

TO&E GP40 D-24, ex-Conrail, at Weyerhaeuser lumber mill, Wright City, OK, April 1990. The dynamic brakes have been deactivated, as all TOE/D&E power lacks dynamic brakes. Also, all road power consists of either GP40s or GP40-2s- the line did have two GP35s, but they went to Kiamichi Railroad to become its 3501 and 3502. With RailAmerica's desire to get rid of most 567-powered diesels, their fate is uncertain on Kiamichi.

    Got some more for ya:

TO&E GP40-2 D-14 at the DeQueen engine house, DeQueen, AR April 1990. DeQueen is the home of the shops and offices of the combined railroads, both owned by Weyerhaeuser Corporation.

DeQueen & Eastern (D&E) GP40 D7, in the new yellow & blue scheme, is the second unit in this day's Chip Shuttle train (solid trains of woodchip hoppers) enroute to the paper mill at Valliant, OK, the west end of the line and interchange with Kiamichi Railroad. Shot 1 mile north of Valliant on a very warm January 28, 1989 (65 degrees)

    TO&E GP40 D20, DeQueen, AR, April 1990.

Several of the loaded chip gons, of various makes & models, in the aforementioned Chip Shuttle.

    More shots:

70-ton woodchip hopper - might make an interesting scratchbuild/heavy kitbash project.

Ex- Missouri Pacific hopper car (notice the covered-over "buzzsaw" logo) with extensions (another great kitbash project).

TO&E bay window caboose at tail end of Chip Shuttle. How many railroads as late as 1989 were using cabooses?

Here's a broadside shot of that ex-KCS crummy in DeQueen again (April 1990). Not being a KCS buff, I'm guessing it was rebuilt from a 40-foot boxcar.

Shot at Hugo Railcar, Hugo, OK. Most of TO&E's 50-foot boxcars are double-door for paper loading. This was the paint scheme for TOE rolling stock, but lately 50-foot doubledoor boxes are showing up in all colors from their previous railroads.
