I have completed my "Terrafoaming" project. The green is all of the places that I used the 3mm foam floor pad to raise the ground level in order to lower the track height. The black is the WS foam roadbed. The areas that are black where there is no track is the WS sheet roadbed. Now I can paint the ground and start working on modeling structures and locomotives and then get a start on some basic scenery. The first structure I have to work on is the plywood mill so that I can finish the spurs that run to it. I plan on extending the Yard Lead from Pond Yard and the A/D track so that a cut of cars can be drilled without fouling the Main. Right now when a cut is pulled from the A/D track you have to pull out onto the Main so that you can shove into Pond Yard. I already have the turnout in place for the Cutoff track, I just need to lay the track and wire it. I was waiting to get the terrafoaming done so I could lay it. I am also going to extend the length of the two spurs in Front Yard slightly. They are just a little too short to hold three cars apiece without fouling the turnout. That will allow me a capacity of 12 cars for interchange in Front Yard. I'll probably do the two track laying projects first and then start on the plywood mill. Then all of the track will be down on Phase I of the AD&N. And now I can run some trains, too.
Thanks, gentlemen. John, I did the clouds with these. I made the stencils from card stock. When painting I held them about 2-3" from the wall and misted the flat white from the spray can.
