    Hi all,
Thanks to eBay, I have a Western Union telegraph sounder. I would like to power this neat device and have it operate as if someone was tapping out dashes and dots on a telegraph key. I have searched the internet ad nauseum for some kind of circuit to simulate this but have had no luck. It seems a simple random generating circuit of some kind could be built. Maybe not. I turn to you wonderful guys and gals for help. Thanks in advance.

    Ken-

I was once involved with a historical society that owned a restored depot. They had such a setup. It used a simple cassette player.

I cannot point you to the fellow who set this up, as he passed away in 1998. But he was an active member in The Morse Telegraph Club. If you try searching for that organization, surely something will show. And someone there would likely be able to duplicate the circuitry. I can't imagine it being terribly complicated.

    :D
