    Edwin E. Tatem has been named construction services manager, transportation & infrastructure, for the central region at WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff.

    In his new position, Mr. Tatem is responsible for the service and delivery of construction inspection and resident engineering services in the firm’s Central region, which includes Illinois, Iowa, Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Missouri, Kentucky, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Oklahoma. He is based in WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff’s Detroit office.

    A WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff vice president, Mr. Tatem most recently worked as the firm’s area manager for Michigan. During his 10 years with the firm, he has served as an engineering manager on transit, bridge, highway design and construction projects in capacities including engineer, project manager and principal-in-charge. Over a 30-year career, he has served in senior management positions for public agencies throughout Southeast Michigan, managing design and construction management projects involving highways, bridges, interchanges, grade separations, airports, rail transit, railroads, pipelines, tunnels, power plants and educational facilities.

    A licensed professional engineer in Michigan, Mr. Tatem earned a master’s degree in civil engineering from Wayne State University and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Pratt Institute. His professional affiliations include the American Council of Engineering Companies, American Society of Civil Engineers, Conference of Minority Transportation Officials, and Intelligent Transportation Society.
