One thing I have always wondered about the Noch system (and static grass in general): does the grass eventually break down and become flat or floppy? A balloon stuck to the ceiling after rubbing it with wool will eventually fall. My plan includes central California foothills, which are mostly grass and a few trees. Would static grass or faux fur (heavily modified so it isn't all the same texture) be better for this type of scenery?

If this post is too far off track, please feel free to ignore.

Not trying to steal the thread,

Static grass is adhered to the layout/module surface with glue (or maybe wet paint). The static charge is just for making the grass vertical during application. After that, the glue holds it up.

I don't know about eventually, but the static grass I have seems very tough. I have some a year old and have leaned on it with elbows and used for tool rests and drink holders and it has yet to lay down any more than when I put it on.
