Howdy all!! OK, hewre is my problem. 1. I run EASY DCC by CVP 2. I can not get the switch-it to take a programming address. Just plain and simple, I am do not know if I am doing anything right. Right sucks to be a lone wolf modeler, cause no one to cry for help to,LOL I even tried to programm the CV's , that did not work. NCE switch-it manual says, connect two wire to track power, then connect the jumper fer which ever output you are programming , then set up the route and accy addy. I did that, nothing worked. Just really getting old, I just wish it would work, before I lose my mind. Too late my brain is fried from this. I can just see it now, people will probally tell me I have the wrong system. I just need help. The G file ( garbage ) is looking good. I am willing to take a 20$ hit and a lesson learned, to be able to throw it in the garbage. That is how upset I am, Adios Wyatt
Make sure that after you program the decoder that you hook it up just like the instructions. You need to disconnect the jumper wire once decoded. Jeff
Jeff, I followed the directions to the letter, Still did not work. I was trying to stay with the CVP AD4 but no one had any. No more NCE products for me, Adios wyatt
I had problems programming mine too with a Digitrax System. It has been a few months now and I am not sure how I did it. You did have track power on? You then hooked the jumper from (I don't remember the 2 points)? Did you tighten the screws? Then you issued a switch command? I always did a Thrown and a Closed. Then you removed the jumper wire? Then you cycled the track power? If that doesn't work, call NCE. I was having problems with all of mine not working well after I had programmed them. NCE sent me 4 new units. Same problems with those so I sold them on EBay. As far as I know, the only place you can get the CVP products by ordering direct. Good luck and try and enjoy. Remember, Model Railroading is Fun. David
David, The only thing that you sugessted that I did not do, was: cycle track power and issue both commands. I will go try that now..... That does not work either. I have had it. While doing all of this just now, I was able to program and re program the one decoder that works. I guess it is a bad decoder, well I am not going to waste any more money on it. Just going to throw the damn thing away, and chalk it up to expierence. Adios wyatt
I ran into a similar problem, I was using a Prodicgy Advance system. Here is how I resolved it. Switch-it decoders are CV#545 for SWA and CV#546 for SWB During this procedure, make sure power to the track and Switch-it is on. Connect a short “jumper” wire from the PA terminal to common as outlined in Switch-it manual. If you have the ability to program to a CV number, go through your programming procedures and Enter until “CV #” displays. Enter 545. Press ENTER. Enter the accessory decoder address. Press Enter. Throw your switch open and then closed. Remove the jumper wire. Hope this helps.
