Any WP equipment still on the rails?

    Here's a few shots I have:

Nice shots hemiAdda2d. There is a fair amount of WP cars still out there. A batch of WP hoppers in rock service have been released from Texas and are showing up in Sparks Nevada. Not sure what they are carrying but they are still in WP's original paint. Hopefully I can shoot some of them before they move on.

There is a string of former WP TOFC cars in storage on the Wisconsin & Southern here in Madison. The cars were sold from WP to KCS so they have KCS reporting marks on them, but they've still got the later streamlined feather logo and at least one of them still says "WESTERN PACIFIC" on the side.

Photos are in my album at RailImages:

I came across this car recently Hemi. If you look hard the old UP large shield can be seen under the new paint .

Slambo, I've seen those cars recently in Sparks NV too. As a side note, when UP took over the WP, they returned them and they went to D&RGW before they went to KCS. I have some pictures in the D&RGW reporting marks somewhere, with the WP's last logo or WP written on the side.

Red Rock, neat picture. A bit of info on that car. When UP took over the WP it was one of the first class of cars to get the UP paint but retained the WP reporting marks. It has since been repainted with the now current paint and shield seen in your picture. It has always been a WP car, and I have pictures of them before the borg painted it. When they were first repainted, you could see the old large WP under the shield.

Saw this yesterday in Denver on one of those rare occasions any more when I can "get out" :D

It's the first time I've seen the stylized feather, in real life or on a model...

You do seem to be lucky with rare stock to photograph, William [IMG] I think you must 'get out' more than you admit ;)

Now I'm finding Box Cars all over TrainBoard. Where were these shots when I start the Feeling a bit BOX'ed in topic within Railfan Photos.

I thought the WP 38512 had a one-of-one shield, but I was wrong. Today, Cheyenne, WY eastbound:
