Due to the fact that I have less and less time for Z I decided a while ago to make my detail parts available for everyone. So those are exactly the parts I use for my well known kitbashes. The kits are designed for MTL's GP9, GP35 and SD40-2, but they will fit to AZL's GP7/9, GP30 and GP38-2 as well. Each kit contains sufficient parts to super one loco with enough spares if something goes wrong (as it does still with me all the time...). I will include a small instruction were to place those details. The parts are stainless steel and very fine, so I would recommend those kits for modelers with some experience. I have a limited number of frets available now, if there is sufficient interest I'm happy to offer more. Price $16 per fret (GP9 or GP35 or SD40-2) + $5 shipping (up to 10 frets) If you are interested contact me on trains@enkay-design.com GP9 GP35 SD40-2
Not a single one of those AZL locos is currently available for sale. . .sigh. No wonder I'm peering longingly at N-scale.
Bob??? Yes AZL has GP7s, GP30s and GP38-2s all for sale. GP7s available: UP, C&O, Nickel Plate and PRR. A new run is in the final stages. GP30s available: NYC and UP. Expect a new road name in December. GP38-2s available: SOO, Milwaukee and CP. Expect a new road name in December as well as quite a few months after that. SD70Ms available: NS. A new run is in the final stages? Rob
I will take the blame for posting before coffee (PBC). Let's look at ztrackcenter.com: Not seeing it online. Yup, there it is. I was looking right at it, didn't see it. My bad. Yup, there's that one too. I'm batting 0.333 at this point... And there's that one. 0.250. Not good. Sorry folks, my bad. I'll go get my checkbook now.
That's good to hear Rob...........now that I'm down one the next question is will it be Yellow :startled:
Bob, sorry about the missing GP7s! We have been rebuilding Ztrack Center this year and still have quite a few AZL products to post. I can't wait to get more SD70s in stock! Rob
Mike, no plans so far, really depends on when the SD70M will be available (again) and if there is sufficient interest.
I should prefer dark grey, with red paint on the nose, becoming striped on the nose's sides! Dom
I might have to give Z Super Detailing a try. I've done it in N scale but always thought Z would be too small. But if it's out there I'll have to at least try one. I see the GP7 Detail kit available so I'm in.
