I see a lot of friends here, and a lot of new names, so I'll ask this question here. Aside from the book "Rails, Sagebrush, and Pines", is there any other available information on the Sumpter Valley Railway? I'm specificly interested in the period during which the 2-6-6-2s were in use. Pete
Sumpter, welcome to Trainboard! For starters, go to Sumpter Valley's website at Sumpter Valley Railway and I found several other links to sites which have some info on the railway, on Dogpile or Google.
Neat link, nice web page. Looks like a vacation to Baker City Oregon is in order. The call of steam and narrow gauge trains, what a combination. Greg Elems
sumpter250, There was a new book on the Sumpter Valley published last fall. I don't remember the name of it, but I'm waiting for the second round to show up at our local bookstore. Dave said they should be in stock about April 10th. You can reach him at Uffda Shop . I'm waiting for the book to come out again, too! I live just up the road from Sumpter... Pat
