allright guys above ALL SP paint scheme ACes (daylight and black widow) SP 1865 would take a priority. (if you think daylight or black widow should be it then say so) This locomotive is to honor our companys life it can be either and ACe or a GEVO (preferably ACe to allign with other heritage units). I feel this would be an awesome unit to do and want a special scheme for her. Remember when suggesting an idea please be specific and ensure your proposal is doable by someone. This is no factory paint so super complexity is not an option but don't make it too simple. There is no requrement of the lettering type only that the numbers are Roman. The name can be a logo, Serif style, the old loco style lettering speed lettering or whatever you think best represents the company. Make a loco you think best honors the Southern Pacific.

There is no guarantee that this unit will ever be made but if i get an interesting enough idea i might pull forward with it. If you can make a computer painting of it that would help if not thats ok. Your suggestions are appreciated thanks! Please provide a link to the clolr you are suggesting so everyone can see them

I still think it should be 1862 for the founding of the Central Pacific and in that vein, maybe a paint scheme along the lines of one of the old 440s. Maybe black and red with pinstripes

I'm not sure I can explain it any better. I guess what I'm saying is that something that has the feel of the guilded age.

here's a shot of a reproduction of CP #1 Governor Stanford

Red, black and grays Brass/Gold trim.
Those are the colors I'd go with with an ornate brass striping.

I know you want the 1865 date, I just think the founding of the CP is the most important thing. The founding of the SP is just a footnote in rail baron history to me.

    But hey, it's you're railroad.
