ATSF Steam loco lettering color

    I'm modeing ATSF in the 40's, & I'm getting ready to letter a mikado and a consolidation. I was wondering what color lettering would be correct white or silver? Microscale make decal sheets for both. Any help would be great.

    Nick, the Santa Fe officially only used Aluminum paint for steam locomotive lettering....

    However, sometimes as the aluminum paint aged and weathered it sometime turned sort of white.
