Heres some pictures of the steamer that I and a few other TB members rode behind! Hope you enjoy!!!!!! As the 2-8-0 sits at Cumberland, MD station taking on water getting ready for the climb to Frostburg, MD. Mike K "6206_S1a" looks at the antique B&O "Penstock" water colum as I walk past headed to get up in the front with the rest of the crew... Just before it came into the station, before the above picture was taken.... It had pulled across the bridge and took a brief pause got steam up and moved into the station platform...
I think I took this one being a few of us leaned out between cars where it was open to watch the steam show up in front... and take pictures like this... Saved the best for last. The Sand Patch meet Motley Crew! Standing in front of the Ex Reading R.R. 2-8-0 that was repainted and made into a Western Maryland 2-8-0 H-7b, that the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad nic named this loco, "Mountain Thunder"
Hey hey hey, they do have steam out there! Nice pics, my favorite is that one of the camera-geeks hanging out the door, taking pictures of you, taking pictures of them, taking pictures of you, taking pic -- You get the idea.
Brian, I only claim to know what 3 guys it is! HA! (And yes, their is 3 of us in that picture!) Bill, I had shared these on the board once before when I got the pictures in e-mail. Just, I hadn't posted them here. I wasn't thinking that you all missed them, being I had posted them in "The Cattle Car" forum! And then I thought about the 2-8-0 Moutain Thunder being steam. I could post them here as well! I'm going to model that 2-8-0 one day, when I get a new Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0... So it pulls well.. to pull 8 aluminum streamlined passenger cars.... To look just like the real train!
Let's politically correct here ok?????? I am not a "geek"in that picture. I am the "mental case" in the picture, thank you. Thumbs up, JP!
JT, your a trip without the drugs! HA! You mental case! HA! JT But I have to say.... That weekend could sure of been longer!!!! I enjoyed the whole time!!! Even tho, we didn't have much to do besides shoot the breeze! But it was fun none-the-less!!!!!!

All are outstanding gentlemen indeed.
JT, All 7 are a bunch of train crazed CRAZIES! HA. Talk about 7 foamers all in one area at the same time! HA Although, I had a blast as everyone did I'm sure. It could have lasted longer... I had a blast! And look forwards in doing it again! [ 06. October 2002, 00:31: Message edited by: 7600EM_1 ]
JP, I must say that all the guys are good eggs. Ed, Brian, You, Mike, Russ, Peirce and Warren are all cool dudes. And Gordy too. I believe he joined TB after our Deshler meet. And some of you met Pete for the first time and my great buddy, Louie. He just retired from the PD and also became a Grandfather last weekend! But, tell me if I'm wrong.......when we speak of TrainBoard, who is the one person that EVERYONE wants to meet?????? WATASH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
JT, I hear ya man on meeting the one and only Watash! If everything goes well this income tax return time for me, I am planing a trip to Ft. Worth at that time just to meet him.. and do all the thanking him for what hes done for me over the few years i've known him in person. Besides, hes the man that got me to join TrainBoard! I got to know him when I was an active member of railserve.com.... Since then I haven't bothered the site to offen. I stick to TrainBoard like a loyal dog! I enjoy the site and the members of it. Anyway, JT, I won't argue the comment on meeting him!
