What is the easiest way to attach stationary decoders such as the ds52 from digitrax even though it would work for any decoder? The ds52 has four holes one at each corner and i was wondering what to do.

Radio Shack sells plastic "stand offs" that are about 3/8" long and hollow, like a straw. You use them as a buffer and put a screw through the board (and the stand off) into your benchwork.

I only use standoffs if the decoder in question (or other device, if it isn't a decoder) isn't in a housing.

Otherwise, I just use a short (1/2" or shorter) #4 or #6 screw through the provided mounting holes.

    Alan:

I use small screws in the mounting holes as well.
