Can anyone tell me the color of the C & NW wooden stations in Wisconsin during the 1950's??? All photo's I have seen are black and white! Thanks ahead of time!!!
Andy- You've been somewhat quiet lately. Must be busy working on the layout? I have seen few variants. So can't speak with any authority. Especially to a specific one, such as perhaps Tunnel City? Anyhow, they had a solid sort of a dark red, or almost tuscan on some wooden structures. Wish I could help more. Boxcab E50
The only C&NW station I know is River Forest Il. and It was Yellow with brown trim. Don't know if the railroad did that or the town.
Thanks guy's, Ken I have been busy working on Tunnel City, I have just about got the Milw. station done and will be moving on to the C&NW station. All the pic's I have seen of C&NW stations have all been in black and white with no discriptions. The pic's I have of Tunnel City show the station already turned into a house and painted a narly bright blue, some how I don't think that is standard C&NW coloring.I have seen the dark red color on a few newer stations, might just have to go with that, we will see if anything else turns up. Thanks again!
