Staging and small layouts - some thoughts

    Maybe I should start a new thread...
    I am modeling BNSF, in North Dakota, where I live. There is a large yard east of here, and not much else on the line from here to Montana.... I undestand your ideas.. I am planning an industrial side, with a yard for staging, intermodal, and a station for my streamliners, no matter how long ago they have been given the axe :( On one side, I wanted a mountain/ragged-terrain, and then rolling prairie. I will add a sawmill, an grain ops, but I am building this for cont. running, and minimum-moderate switching. I am a fan of running trains, thus this will be a DCC layout.

    Reason for blank scenery is that there isn't much out here to model, and off-line industry switching required fouling the main. I could add a few grain elevators, the stuck-in-the-middle-of-nowhere-type, to add interest in that 16' long section of blank, rolling hills.

    I'll revamp the plan and post it in a new thread, and I ask that someone could post it here, from my web album in my signature.
