I think if you lengthen distance between the two crossovers by sliding the near crossover toward the camera, and move the switches leading to the spurs to between the two crossovers, that will give you more room for a more gentle and reliable S-curve.

Yes, there are a few options. I will see how it all pans out on the test run. Thanks for the heads up.

Ok, so looking at the layout as it is with the S curve and considering what I have in place mounted to the board, I did a quick redesign before taking off to work. What I was trying to achieve was minimal surgery to what is mounted to the board as far as ramp is concerned. Any ideas and changes are always welcomed and appreciated.

I could take a piece of flex track and gentle cure it to make it work without changing anything. I think that may be my first option.

So, the flex track idea will work fine. I laid a piece in to get a look at it. Of course it will need a bit of adjustment, but the curve should be extremely manageable.

it's been a bit slow for me as far as progress. The Holiday season is always hectic in our household. We tend to travel quite a bit this time of year to visit family spread across the Midwest. The good news is I can drop the wires when I find the time and get a test run in on the main.

Hey folks. I finally got back to the train room after a short hiatus. I started to drop wires today. I want to test the mainline and see how it handles. The process is a bit tedious, so I may wire my connectors, maybe 14 to 16 sets, so I can get power going much quicker.

The pics are quite boring, but how exciting can wiring actually be?

Wiring is definitely not thrilling, KWE, but your progress is good news.

Hello TrainBoards! I am alive and kicking and still working on my layout. I am still dropping wires very slowly. It is such a chore for me. This is my most unfulfilling part of tackling a layout. Once all the wires are dropped then everything is much better. As of now I do about an hour of work on my free Sundays, so that equals about every other Sunday or so. I have wires dropped on one side, now I am working on the wall side. Once this side is done, I think I will feel more motivated.
