There's an old suggestion, probably based in military lore, that goes "never volunteer for anything." :D :D :D However, I still think it would be helpful.

Not sure how fancy it would need to be. Perhaps just a simple spreadsheet in Excel.

There are nearly endless possibilities, but an Excel spreadsheet would be a good start.

My collection started in 2002, I thought about getting a notebook and putting down the key items and models in each issue and then keep up with it when each one comes. That way I don't have to drag out the whole pile and look at every one when I want something. I keep them in order on the shelf so it should work OK. Should be doing this in the next couple of days so if you guy's start something and need these last 7 years let me know.

    ak-milw,

thanks for your offer. Seems that we have gotten into a project here. I have TMRs back to about 1992, and some issues before that.

If you could donate your work to our effort, I'll do it from 2001 on downwards to 1992 or so.
Maybe BoxcabE50 does chime in here?

If you send me your spreadsheet (or whatever you have) I'll use this as a base.

Perhaps we should start a new topic about indexing. :D

    Dear Mike,

Thank you! Ironically, that trestle was the reason I went to that area in the first place. It was in a photo in one of my Milwaukee Road books. You have confirmed something I have suspected for a long time.

I have only been able to get to that area in July or August, which means everything is covered in foliage. Please post the photos when you get a chance, and welcome to Trainboard.
