I haven't shared these photos that I had taken many years ago and thought I repost them for the Southern Pacific fans here. To be honest, I don't know much about these, but they look like U25Bs they were rebuilt and repainted in something that looks like Daylight colors? SP U25B units (4) rebuilt late 1970's, by Morrison-Knudsen as SP 7030-7033. Nicknamed "Popsicles" due to paint scheme colors. Used the Sulzer diesel engine. (Swiss?) An experiment which did not work very well.
A little more info on these unique locomotives. They were designated TE70-4S http://espee.railfan.net/te_70-4s.html Regards, Wolf
I'd say 1992 would be pretty close to when I saw them. I'm guessing that they're probably scrapped by now?
From what I can find -- looks like they were scrapped in or around '06 or '07. They are now just a fond memory. Wolf
