    SP U25B units (4) rebuilt late 1970's, by Morrison-Knudsen as SP 7030-7033. Nicknamed "Popsicles" due to paint scheme colors. Used the Sulzer diesel engine. (Swiss?) An experiment which did not work very well.

    I'd say 1992 would be pretty close to when I saw them. I'm guessing that they're probably scrapped by now?

    From what I can find -- looks like they were scrapped in or around '06 or '07. They are now just a fond memory.

    I remember thinking that one of these should have gone to a museum.

    It'd be nice if the Cal State Railroad Museum had gotten one. But, at least I got to see them.
