IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR SP LIVES: At some point tomorrow I will save these drawings under my railimages, but until then, SAVE THESE ON YOUR COMPUTER IN CASE THE FILES ARE LOST ON MINE. My parents often clear memory on our PC's to make more space, so save the pictures in case they do!
looks good, I prefer the red/black...BUT the SP did not merge with the Rock Island...though they did buy much of the line (as a SSW line) after the RI closed down. The Rock Island was the largest railroad to not merge into another system when it shut down
In my world we buy RI just before their fall. I choose the blue because i like it best and for ALL heritage units i chose to use the LAST paint scheme that particular company used before they were taken over
Last on Order...SP 831 Here's the last one! This was as large as I could get the Speed Lettering to make sure it cleared appliances on the other side. If you--or ANYONE ELSE--wants any more paint schemes for the ACe just ask! BTW that "future paint" #2010 I think would also make a great addition to your fleet. Here's the big surprise: I ended up drawing all of these in Microsoft Paint, basically the most basic drawing application ever!
1999 2010 Regular Throwback If anyone wants another SP paint scheme for the SD70ACe, I will happily draw one up!
Regular-ES44AC. Columbus sailed the ocean blue in... A very lucky SD70ACe (Alternate Number) Builder's Special: SD&AE Heritage #1932 (the year the SP bought the San Diego & Arizona Eastern) A friend for your Daylight GS-4
For the Cotton Belt unit, you ought to use yellow instead of white on the handrails. That was a unique SSW touch for a while on their diesels...
