It seems to me, mostly by observation of photo’s of the SP’s crossing of the Cascades in Oregon that there is a specific arrangement of signals. This would be that all siding exit signals (more proper name?) are searchlights mounted on a cantilevered bridge while all block signals (ones near switch points going from single track to a siding/main configuration are searchlights mounted on a vertical post. If anyone knows anything about this, please clue me in.

I live in the Center(ish) Willamette Valley in Oregon and from what I've noticed of whats left of it has been modernized. I went to college in Ashland so I lived almost on top of the Siskiyou line that goes (or went) to Coos Bay. some of the newer signals are single post vertical row lights, but some cantilevered signals still exist too and from what I remember they did look like spotlights-but with with sun covers. It also still has single post flag signals. The Siskiyou has been in disrepair since CORP took over and abandoned it so there haven't been to many upgrades. So much so that there is still a Wig-Wag in Ashland.
