    All-

Are there any SR > SOUTHERN RAILWAY Modelers here ? I'm in need of a SR Steam Locomotive Roster dating from 1917 -1950 , possibly to their transition to diesel.

    All,

The reason why I am asking is I found this Photo in a recovered railway folder which came up recently as undocumented .

It's a "Santa Fe" 2-10-2, built around 1918 used until late 1940's. Mostly in the mountain areas of North Carolina. The 5046 was an experiment. trying to get better pulling power in the mountains and maybe better speed. The Santa Fe's were not very fast. That's one of the reasons they didn't see much main line service after their first few years.
