After a disasterous Zip disk failure, am trying to rebuild my notes.

I have a million of these. But would like to start with- What date did the Southern gain control of, and when did they absorb the operations of, into The Southern RY:

    Atlantic & East Carolina RY

    Atlantic & Yadkin RY.

I believe the year 1950 comes into play somewhere. Correct? But I don't know month? Day? I don't see them in an Official guide, so they must have been absorbed?

Research for the Southern Railway should include the following web pages:

    Southern page1

    Southern page2

    Southern page3

    Southern page4

    Southern page5

Additionally, there has been much published on the Southern Railway and it's history, the most famous, of course, being by Prince.

Check with the following booksellers for hardcovers which may help your research:

    Karen's books

    McMillan Publications

    JR Milnot

    Leyshon's books

    Golden Spike Books

Another excellent source for your research is "Historical Guide to North American Railroads" by George H. Drury.
