Hi guy's. I have seen in some Web sites that the Sou. Rwy. only had 1 (one), Alco RS-11 Loco, & it appears that it was not equipped with Dynamic Brakes. "Does anyone know"? Did it arrive on Southern from a former merged railroad, & did this loco operate on the Carolina division? Also, any info on the sale or retirement of this loco. Thankyou for this great site to post new messages.
The Southern did have one RS-11. It was painted in Southern colors but said Carolina & Northwestern on the side instead of Southern. Here is a link to a photo of it. The funny thing is that it's number was 11. http://www.srha.net/public/photos/photo_detail.asp?ID=52552
