I'm looking for other biographies from people who worked for and on the Southern Pacific. Books that tell the story of WORKING for the railroad (especially during the steam era). I loved the books by Dick Murdock (Smoke in the Canyon: My Steam Days at Dunsmuir, Bill Knapke: A Railroad Legend, Hogheads and Highballs: Railroad Lore & Humor, etc), Charles Steffes (Life and Times of a Locomotive Engineer), and Dan Rehwalt (The Light at the End and Other Railroad Stories). Does anyone have any other suggestions of books like these? Thanks for your suggestions...

Hope you can find more. I have always enjoyed reading these first person accounts, from my own favorite railroad. What I have encountered is those which can be located, often seem to be self-published, and not a lot of copies available.
