Not sure if I have posted this pic before...sorry if I have...

Taken in 1983...from across the LA river of the Dayton Avenue Signal tower...at SP's Taylor yard. This was a long exposure..25+ secs...thats all I remember...that is the Interstate 5 freeway to the right of the tower.

    Mike-

I did not know there was an interlocking tower. I suppose that it has now suffered the fate of so many others? Automated, demolished, forgotten......

Yes Boxcab...the tower is still around but not in usage...it was physically moved north of it's current location several years ago...about 3/4 of a mile...to what is now UP property...where the tower was..is now the local commuter property MTA/Metrolink.

Here is a picture of it, during a better day...with a B36-7 passing by. Circa 1983...taken from San Fernando Road side of the tower.

Any hints as to the fate of that tower? If not in use, but moved, perhaps a historical preservation is possible?

    Welcome aboard, Neosnightmare!

No digi back then! I used my beloved Canon AE-1 for that shot...it was stolen a few years later...
